The program included interesting lectures by experienced health care professionals on topics related to point-of-care testing across the clinical spectrum, e.g.: “Current and Future Use of POCT in Primary Care: A Needs Assessment”, “POCT in the Overcrowded Emergency Department—Can It Make a Difference?” and “Point-of-Care Lactate for Sepsis Detection: Reconsidering Accuracy, Precision, and Concordance Criteria”.
Two posters were presented related to HemoCue products; “Evaluation of the HemoCue® HbA1c 501 system in primary care settings” and “Evaluation of three POCT Hematology analyzers for white blood cell analysis”. These and other selected posters from the meeting will be published in the next issue of the Journal of Near-Patient Testing & Technology.
HemoCue and Radiometer Medical were joint sponsors, which gave us the option for giving a vendor presentation for the audience. During breaks we had a table where we displayed our products and solutions which attracted a lot of visitors.
The CPOCT division is actually founded based on a blood gas and electrolyte division that has its roots in Denmark and the initial history around blood gases. With the conference taking place in the home turf of Radiometer and HemoCue it was an excellent opportunity to present the unique history of both our companies during the vendor presentation.
